Why did Beethoven hate his sister-in-law?
Beethoven’s brother, Caspar Carl, married Johanna Reiss, the daughter of an upholsterer, on May 26, 1806. She was pregnant. The composer did not get along well with his sister-in-law, and the marriage apparently displeased him. He accused her of immorality, publicly and repeatedly (some of this shows up in the film).
