Do baffles increase horsepower?
For a quick answer – quiet baffles will not impact performance (horsepower or torque) as much. You could lose a small amount of high end power but nothing significant. You might see it at a dyno but will not feel it. Now that’s out of the way, let’s go into the details.
Will removing baffles hurt my Harley?
If your bike is stock the way it came from the factory it is already running very lean. If you remove the baffles or add a free flowing air filter it will run even leaner. You could add a fueler to richen up the air fuel ratio. The new Gen3 will be easy to install and adjustable for any future mods you might make.

Removing your baffles will likely require a retune…that really messes with the back pressure. If you listen to some other mufflers and inquire as to the manufacturer of some that you like, you’re more likely to better match the backpressure your present pipes have and not hurt your tune as much.
