Using CarMD with your car
- Turn on your car. But do not start it.
- Plug in your CarMD. It will beep twice when plugged in correctly. Where to plug.
- Wait till CarMD is done. CarMD will beep 4x to let you know that it is done and can be removed.
Can CarMD clear codes?

Does my car have a diagnostic port?
The most common location is in section 3 below, which is just left of the steering wheel and underneath your dashboard. Some vehicle’s OBDII Port might be located behind a latch or contain a protective cover. You should not have to do anything more than open it up to reveal the OBDII port.
How long does an engine diagnostic take?
A standard diagnostic test can take about an hour to an hour and a half. Of course, more complicated issues that require further diagnosis and where components must be removed for access or testing can take 2-3 hours; depending on the severity of the issue or multiple underlying issues.
