Checking the FICM Just remove the two bolts holding the reservoir to the cowl and push it to the side. Remove the two screws on the lid of the FICM and take it off. When you look inside, you will either see 4 screw heads or 7 screw heads depending on the year your truck was manufactured.

Is the FICM part of the fuel injector?
The FICM is the Fuel Injector Control Module that sends the signal to the injector to open or close. Bosch refers to it as an ECU. This is a remanufactured unit that has a one year parts only warranty. Due to the high number of bad cores we received back, we are out of exchange units.

The wiring on the injectors is very simple: One wire powers the injector while the FICM fires the injector by grounding the other. The recommended resale from my supplier on these remanufactured injectors is about $1,600 for the set of four.
Can a FICM be removed from the passenger side rocker cover?
The FICM, intake ducting, air filter/MAF assembly, and many other items must be removed to gain access to the passenger-side rocker arm cover. Since the FICM disables the electrical circuits of all four injectors in each group, testing the injector circuits with a lab scope is a waste of time.
