Are drawer knobs a standard size?
Knobs that are 1 ¼” to 1 ⅜” are standard for most applications. Any knob that is 1 ½ inches or larger is generally used on larger cabinets or if someone is really trying to make their hardware stand out and look more dramatic.
Are all drawer knobs the same size?
Consistent Size Throughout There is no right or wrong size to choose, but we do recommend choosing pulls that have at least a 3-3/4″ center to center (the distance between the screw holes). This size looks pleasing on most cabinets, while still being large enough to grip comfortably.
How do you measure a drawer knob hole?
Place the drawer pull on a work surface with the threaded posts facing up. Measure from the center of the screw hole in one threaded post over to the center of the other screw hole with a tape measure. This is the measurement required when selecting replacement pulls.

Where do you place drawer pulls?
Pulls should be placed horizontally on drawers. For small drawers (less than 24” wide) center the knobs or pulls in both directions. Just like on larger drawers, pulls should be placed horizontally. Knobs and pulls can also be placed centered at the very top of the drawer panel, where the drawer rail begins.
Should drawer pulls be centered?
Most drawer pulls are centered on the drawer fronts, but if the cabinet you’re working on has two or three drawers the same size and one larger one at the bottom, install the bottom knob (or pull) higher than the center of that drawer front. Install it so all the knobs on the cabinet are spaced evenly.
Should I mix knobs and pulls?
Yes. You can mix knobs and pulls. It’s recommended to use pulls for cabinets that are higher up and knobs for lower style cabinets. Lower drawers that slide are typically fitted with a pull handle.
