The Numtums is about a group of 10 multicolored numbats who live in Gumnut Gorge called the Numtums with numbers on their tummies. The Numtums are based on numbats, hence their fondness for eating termites in their café, the Tasty Termite, and they are named after Australian towns, except Champer.

How many Numtums are there?
There are six young Numtums, Bendy Go, Dar Dar, Champer, Humpty Do, Little Sandy and Coogee, they are also known as the Numpups. Lots of the adventures revolve around them, then there’s Flinders, Gladdy, Hobart and Nimbin – they are the older Numtums but they’re not much more sensible!

How many numbats are left?
There are fewer than 1,000 Numbats left in the wild. This is less than the number of orangutans in Sumatra and even less than the number of Giant Pandas in Asia. Numbats need to be protected from becoming extinct through habitat protection, fox and cat control, and land management to ensure the bush is left intact.
